Caliente consists of 6 members, Rick Jauregui on drums, Bernie Gomez on rhythm guitar, Jessi Lerma on lead guitar & vocals, Mario Gomez on bass guitar & vocals, Andrea Magallanez on lead vocals, and Jesus Jaramillo on keyboards & vocals. Most of the members of Caliente where born in Nogales, AZ. All members now live in the Phoenix area.

Rick Jauregui has devoted most of his adult life to music. He was involved with his fathers band for many years. Rick has a degree in Financing from Nothern Arizona University.

Bernie Gomez has played the rhythm guitar since he was eight years old and would play old folk songs at family gatherings.

Jessi Lerma has also been in numerous bands including "Oscar y La Polvadera". Jessi recorded 3 albums with "Oscar y La Polvadera". Jessi also owns his own printing business.

Mario Gomez apart from playing the bass guitar since he was about ten years old, has a Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Arizona State University.

Andrea Magallanez has been the lead vocalist for a number of different bands ranging from salsa to top 40. She was also involved as a singer for a mariachi group.

Jesus Jaramillo started on the drums and moved to the keyboards. Jesus played with "La Edad", which had 5 hit singles in the early 80's. Jesus toured 10 states while with "La Edad". Jesus has a degree in Electronics Technology and a degree in Business. He owns a vending and coffee service business.

Caliente was formed by Mario and Jesus. The band enjoys playing all kinds of music ranging from, Cumbias, Corridos, Tex-Mex, Salsa, to Club Dance Music.

Caliente is a member of the Grand Canyon Minority Suppliers Development Council, and of the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. The band has performed a some of the Council's special events.

Caliente's first CD "Feel the Heat", was recorded Feb.- Apr. 1996, and was produced by Jesus and Mario. It included 10 original tracks. All the songs were written by Mario, Jessi and Jesus. The band released its first CD on September 16, 1996.

Caliente's first public performance was at the 1994 September 16th Street Fiestas in Phoenix for about 10,000 people. Since then, Caliente has performed at all of the "5 de Mayo" and "16 de Septiembre" Fiestas in the Phoenix area, with one performance having a record crowd of over 70,000 people for the 1995 "5 de Mayo" Fiestas with "Little Joe & La Familia" as the headliner. In January 1996, Caliente performed at Superbowl block parties in Phoenix and Glendale. In 1997 Caliente performed along with "Ruben Ramos" for a crowd of about 1,200 people, and with "Los Temerarios", "Banda Pachuco", and "Primavera" for a dance concert of over 11,000 people.

Caliente earned the Budweiser Latin Band sponsorship in a competition with 2 other Latin Bands. Caliente is on the Budweiser Internet Home Page (www.budweiser.com), and also on the Caliente Home Page (www.calienteb.com).

Caliente has achieved a good following, and in known as one of the few versitile bands in the Phoenix area.
